Raül Cavaller

Pyrene Summer Camp Manager

Barcelona ’77 Graduate in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Masters in Teacher Training Sports Technician in Rescue and First Aid and Alpine Skiing I grew up on the outskirts of Barcelona, so going out of the city was a big adventure for me. As a student at the INEFC in Barcelona, I specialized in Physical Activity in the Natural Environment. It was here where I met my wife Meritxell. In 2001 we restored a house in the abandoned village of Nèfol in La Cerdanya as a base camp to guide travellers in the nearby mountains. It was this desire to show others the beauty of the Pyrenees mountains that founded the Pyrene Summer Camps. I am the father of 3 children, Pol, Irene and Abel. For the past three years we have been living in Taos, New Mexico, discovering the wild west and the beautiful Rocky Mountains. With the Pyrene Summer Camps, I’m realizing my dream of appreciating the value of the people and nature around us.

Èlia Sicília

Director – Pyrene Summer Camp

1985, Sabadell. Graduate in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. Master’s in Teacher Training. Certified Youth Camp Director and Sports Technician in Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, Indoor Football, and Lifesaving. I joined Pyrene’s team in 2015 as an instructor, and since 2016, I’ve been the Camp Coordinator. In 2008, I completed my degree at INEFC Barcelona and began working as a PE teacher and tutor for both primary and secondary students around Barcelona. Eager to explore other cultures and landscapes, I left my job to travel around the world in 2013 and 2014. After this experience, I decided to live closer to nature and moved to La Cerdanya. Now the mountains are my home, and I love exploring them through trail running. In winter, I’m the Director of Club Esquí Pyrene. You’ll find me skiing, running, building “castells”, or quietly playing the piano for my cats, Koa and Nico.

I currently combine my work in dubbing with my love for outdoor sports, and I’m continuing my training to keep sharing mountain values with children and teenagers. Since 2018, I’ve been an instructor at the Minairons and Trekking 7×7 camps at Pyrene Summer Camp.

Blanca Torras Pedro

Instructor – Minairons

1996, Barcelona. I hold a degree in Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport from INEFC Barcelona, a Master’s in Teacher Training and a Level 1 Alpine Skiing certification. I am currently studying for a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education. I am passionate about nature and enjoy activities like hiking and snow sports, especially alpine skiing. Whenever I can, I travel, I love staying on the move, learning from others, different cultures and exploring new places such as Thailand, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Peru, Colombia, Cuba… I’ve spent winter seasons in La Cerdanya working as a ski instructor, picked strawberries in Denmark, and spent many years as an educator and teacher for schoolchildren in centers in Barcelona and its surrounding areas. At Pyrene Summer Camp I find the perfect place to apply my studies, disconnect from the city, and be surrounded by children, teens and instructors who share my interests and the same passion for adventure and learning.

Albert Gosa

Camp Leader – Junior Adventure

1996, Bellver de Cerdanya. Advanced Technician in Physical-Sports Animation and Alpine Ski Instructor. My connection with Pyrene began as a child, attending the summer camps for six years. Later, I decided to study physical activity in natural environments and then specialise in alpine skiing, a sport I’ve practiced since I was little. In 2015, I moved to Barcelona, where I now work as a support worker with children who have special educational needs or are at risk of social exclusion. In winter weekends, I return to La Cerdanya to work as a ski instructor at Club Esquí Pyrene. I also spend the summers there, hiking its mountains with Pyrene Summer Camps as a Junior Adventure instructor.

Noa Crowlesmith

Instructor – Aventura Junior & Bold Adventure Camps

2008, The Netherlands. I studied Artistic Baccalaureate, although I’ve always preferred the mountains over the classroom. I’ve been lucky enough to grow up between Mediterranean and Anglo-Saxon cultures, as part of my family is English. I moved to Barcelona when I was little, and since then I’ve loved exploring new places with my family and our van. You’ll usually find me snowboarding, running, climbing, or enjoying a quiet walk with friends. One of my favourite hobbies is dance — it’s a way for me to express myself and connect within. When I finish my studies, I plan to travel and discover the world, always in search of new adventures. I love sharing my passions with others and connecting through nature, adventure, and a touch of excitement!

Guillem Julià

Camp Leader at Wild Adventure Camp and Trekking 7×7

I was born in 1999 and I’m currently studying Geography and Economics. I hold a Level 2 (TD2) certification in Alpine Skiing and I work as a ski instructor in the Vall d’Aran, where I was born. However, I lived in La Cerdanya from age 5 to 20, a key period in my life when I began my sports career as a Telemark World Cup racer. I’m passionate about the mountains and always looking for ways to enjoy them, whether on a bike in summer or on skis in winter. I’ve also been part of the Wild Adventure and Trekking 7×7 camps, which have helped me share this passion with others and connect even more with nature and outdoor sports.

×

Aina Falomí

Instructor – Minairons

2006, Bellver de Cerdanya. I am currently studying a Higher Degree in Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory at Stucom in Barcelona, but I’ve always known that what truly inspires me is working with children and sharing outdoor experiences with them. I’m trained in First Aid, as a Nursing Assistant, and in care for people in situations of dependency, which allows me to look after and support the children at camp with responsibility and confidence.
I’ve always felt a strong connection to the mountains, and I love enjoying them through sports, especially cycling and skiing, while exploring new places. As a child, my family and I would go on bike routes through the mountains of Cerdanya; later on, I cycled part of the Camino de Santiago, an experience that taught me to love the uncertainty of travel and adventure.

Roger Virgili Serrallonga

Instructor – Bold Adventure Camps & Aventura Junior

2002, Barcelona. Climbing, ridge routes, long-distance traverses in the Pyrenees, and ski mountaineering are my passion. I also love pushing past the 4,000-meter barrier in the Alps and testing my limits by taking part in 24-hour orienteering races. I began in the field of outdoor education as a volunteer leader at a youth center, and over time I trained as both a youth leader and camp director. For the past three years, I’ve worked as the director of a thematic orienteering camp and I’m also a certified Sports Technician in this discipline, which has allowed me to organize races ranging from school-level events to official competitions, as well as lead training sessions and activities for children and young people. My five years as a high-performance orienteering athlete have taken me to compete in forests and mountains across the Iberian Peninsula and Europe, discovering unique places and developing a strong sense of teamwork and perseverance. I’m currently finishing my degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a particular interest in material strength and the study and behavior of fire and wildfires—fields that fascinate me just as much as the mountains themselves.

Lara Marcil

Instructor at Wild Adventure and Horse Riding Camps

2002, Dominican Republic. I’ve lived in Catalonia for a while, and currently live in Montreal, Canada. I’m currently studying Gender Studies, a field I’m passionate about because it helps me better understand the world and engage in social causes I care about. I absolutely love starting new things, for example, I’ve recently started climbing. I really enjoy being outdoors, discovering new plants, admiring snowy landscapes, hiking, and sleeping outside. I’m also a big music lover and like to take part in community and social projects. I have a deep love for animals, especially horses. One of my dreams is to one day have my own horse riding center and small farm, with a huge garden where I can care for animals and live close to nature. I’ve been part of the Wild Adventure and Horse Riding camps—two amazing experiences that have helped me grow, share with others, and live incredible adventures in natural surroundings.

Aleix Torner

Instructor – Bold Adventure Camps & Bike Camp

2002, Vallcebre. I’m currently studying for a degree in Primary Education at the University of Vic, a path that allows me to combine two of my greatest passions: education and physical activity as tools for personal and collective growth. Before starting this degree, I completed a Higher Vocational Diploma in Sports Teaching and Socio-Sports Animation in Bagà, where I discovered how rewarding it is to share my passion with the children and youth of the Pyrenees. That experience shaped my commitment to an education based on play, movement, and respect for the natural environment. I also hold a Level 1 Sports Technician qualification in Alpine Skiing, and every winter weekend I escape to the slopes with the kids from Club Esquí Pyrene. When the snow melts, cycling and climbing take over, so if you call and I don’t answer, I’m probably hanging off a rock face.

Ariadna Carreras Campoy

Instructor – Minairons & Aventura Junior

2004, Alella. I am a student of Communication and Cultural Industries at the University of Barcelona, although this year I went on an Erasmus exchange to the Netherlands, where I had the chance to discover a new culture and grow personally. I’ve always been deeply connected to sports and nature. I trained as a leisure, horse-riding, and climbing instructor, two disciplines that are my greatest passions and that I’ve practiced since I was a child. I also greatly enjoy hiking, ski touring, and surfskating. My favourite mountain range is without a doubt the Cadí range. Nearby lies Vìllec, the village where my great-grandmother came from and part of my roots. We still keep the family house there, a place full of wonderful memories and special moments spent enjoying nature.
